• Florida Field Director

    The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is seeking a Field Director. The Field Director will join the leadership team to energize and empower local communities, recruit and train candidates for office, and help deliver Democratic victories up and down the ticket. Field Director is responsible for:

    Responsibilities include:

    • Overall management of the FDPs statewide, 8 region, Community Engagement Program.
    • Revising and executing the field plan as the cycle progresses
    • Facilitating the training and development of Community Engagement staff
    • Ensuring that all metrics related to field activities are properly tracked
    • Recruiting and hiring staff to run field outreach offices
    • Training, managing, and developing staff within offices in the region
    • Providing professional guidance, training and trouble shooting for junior staff
    • Tracking and analyzing performance.
    • Adjusting plans and strategies when necessary
    • Interviewing community engagement applicants and make hiring decisions
    • Coaching regional community engagement directors and holding them accountable to their goals
    • Keeping regional community engagement directors on track to meet both short and long term goals
    • Other assigned duties


    Qualifications and Skills:

    • At least three cycles on issue or electoral campaigns, with two cycles managing staff
    • Extensive experience with Votebuilder
    • Positive attitude and ability to motivate staff members
    • Excellent communication skills, including public speaking
    • Experience and knowledge of mass email and text
    • Social media knowledge is a must
    • Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Working knowledge of Florida political, electoral and legislative processes
    • Willing to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends with some travel
    • Committed to details, results, meeting goals, and consistent improvement
    • Ability to approach problem solving with creativity and initiative
    • Experience working collaboratively with elected officials, candidates, community groups, and/or allied organizations
    • High level of personal and professional integrity
    • Ability to manage conflict, work under pressure, and produce solutions
    • The ability to perform and even thrive in high stress environments
    • The ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and handle regular challenges with a positive attitude
    • The ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends
    • Access to a vehicle
